"La Chine, un havre de paix et de sérénité" (China, a haven of peace and serenity), is a collection of textiles for the home which fosters meditation and travel
Marie-Charlotte Hébert is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
Instructions for use
An ensemble of textiles and materials for the home intended to create a haven of peace and calm. Openwork partitions which create Chinese shadows and different atmospheres as time passes and the light changes; netting in relief and 3D which brings material and colours to life; textiles which dim the light to create supernatural patterns on the walls and ground; partitions with changing graphics; lotus laces which metamorphose, etc.
Background
After two traineeships in Beijing and travels in Guizhou, Marie-Charlotte Hébert fell in love with China. With this collection, she was keen to translate and transmit the impressions of serenity and peace which she experienced in the country. During the manufacturing process, she used techniques requiring considerable concentration but which over time and due to repetition of the same gesture, allowed her to escape from reality to attain a degree of calmness, such as weaving, folding and origami.

These architectural textiles show up more in the light which gives them a new facet and allows them to transform the space in turn.
